Hickory hand-scraped hardwood flooring is a surface made from solid, or engineered, Hickory floorboards that have been textured or "scraped" with a knife to give the floor an antique appearance. Before the advent of modern woodworking machines, floorboards were often milled at slightly different thicknesses. To create a more even transition between the boards, woodworkers would bevel the edges of the thicker boards and scrape the thicker portions with a knife in an effort to create a more level surface.

Our Timeworn technique relies on a proprietary process to give new floorboards the appearance of planks that have been worn down by time.
To create the saw swirl marks, or saw kerfs, that were a hallmark of planks cut at early sawmills, we use a Hit or Miss technique to give new floorboards an antique feel.
