Versailles engineered flooring

Versailles engineered flooring: elegant and functional

Versailles engineered flooring is a great way to transform a room where installing traditional hardwood floors is not ideal. Named for the floors in the famous French palace, the Versailles pattern adds elegance and sophistication to any interior and creates a stunning design feature that is guaranteed to turn heads. Engineered flooring provides a more stable surface for locations where changes in temperature and high levels of moisture or humidity would cause solid wood flooring to warp or crack. Versailles engineered flooring is the perfect combination of elegant form and practical function, bringing a sense of luxury and style to installations below grade, over radiant heating systems or on concrete slab.

Carlisle Wide Plank Floors offers Versailles engineered flooring that is among the highest quality products on the market. Our engineered flooring provides the most stable core available today, and our design consultants can work with you to explore all your choices for pattern, color, hardwood and texture to create one-of-a-kind Versailles wood flooring in any space.

FAQs: What is Versailles engineered flooring?

Can Versailles engineered flooring be textured?

Yes. Textured engineered wood flooring is a great way to give new floors the character and visual appeal of floors that are much older. Our craftsmen use a variety of techniques to reproduce the imperfections of floors that were created more than a century ago, as well as the gently worn appearance of floors that have been lived on for more several lifetimes.

Can Versailles engineered flooring be prefinished?

Yes. Prefinishing your Versailles engineered flooring allows us to complete your floor within our warehouse, working in ideal conditions as we manage all the intricate work of cutting, sanding, staining and sealing the many pieces of your floor. Your prefinished floor will arrive at your home ready for a fast and cost-efficient installation, and you won’t have to deal with the mess, odor or inconvenience of having your floor sanded and sealed on site.

Is engineered flooring available in other patterns?

Yes. We offer Herringbone and Chevron engineered wood flooring, and our design consultants can work with you to explore other standard patterns or to create a pattern that is all your own.

What are the benefits of Carlisle engineered flooring?

Carlisle produces floors that are among the highest quality engineered floors in the market. We use a top layer of hardwood that is 3/4” thick, rather than the industry standard 1/4″ or 1/2” thick. We use 9 to 11 plies of plywood substrate as a backing material – rather than 3 to 5 plies of plywood or fiberboard – to create the strongest and most stable core on the market. That allows us to provide engineered boards in widths up to 10” and lengths of 12’, which is wider and longer than any other engineered flooring product.

What is Versailles engineered flooring?

Versailles engineered flooring is simply an engineered floor that is installed with a Versailles pattern. The Versailles pattern is made with large squares of flooring within which many pieces of floorboard are fit together like a puzzle to create the appearance of interwoven boards. A Versailles floor may use multiple engineered wood colors to accentuate the intricate detail and heighten the 3D effect of the woven pattern.

What is engineered flooring?

Engineered floors are made with a veneer of hardwood that is glued to multiple layers, or plies, of a backing material. This type of construction creates a more stable floorboard that won’t warp or crack in locations where temperatures may fluctuate greatly or where there are higher levels of moisture and humidity.

How to customize Versailles engineered flooring

While choosing a pattern is a sure way to create a one-of-a-kind floor, we offer a number of additional choices for customizing your Carlisle floor.

  • A wide range of hardwoods. We offer 10 species of hardwood to provide you with a variety of options for your Versailles hardwood flooring. Each species offers its own personality, coloration, grain patterns and different levels of density.
  • A choice of grades. Our proprietary grading system makes it easy to choose boards that offer more or less character in the wood. Our Original Grade features more knots and variation in color and grain for a more relaxed and rustic look, while our Heirloom Grade has less variation for a more refined and formal look.
  • Limitless color options. While many homeowners prefer a clear or amber finish that lets the natural color of the wood shine through, others prefer engineered hardwood colors that can only be achieved through the use of stain. At Carlisle, we offer a virtually limitless selection of colors and can provide a stain that is an exact match to the color of any item you send to us.
