The first time I discovered Carlisle was eight or nine years ago on a renovation job we were doing. It was a beautiful install – Hickory floor for a really neat living space. One of the things that makes working with Carlisle different is the overall just experience, which is something that really touches home for me because that’s something that’s so important that we deliver to our clients as we talk about the experience that you’re going to have through this process. We want to be brought in earlier on in the process because I really believe we can provide value in a better service and experience.
We’ve built a lot of homes. I’ve worked with a lot of clients. We’ve seen products be used, we’ve seen them excel, we’ve seen them fail. So, I believe there’s a lot of information that my team has to offer that ties into design. For us, we love that with the Carlisle team, we’re able to be fully educated on the product.
I feel like I found a company that lets me experience what we provide, and what I mean by that is we kind of have endless options with Carlisle. More often than not, we’re sending Carlisle an idea and then you all take it from there. That process starts with a phone call – I have direct communication with a wide plank product specialist. For us, this is Peter Switzer. It’s rare that I’ve called Peter and not gotten ahold of him. “Hey Peter, we’ve got another job coming up, and I want to send you a sample of what we’re thinking…”, and that’s where the whole experience takes off.
You get to tell our clients, “Just wait, this is going to be fun, cause you’re actually going to get samples that are made for you. Not for pulling them off a shelf from somewhere else. What you’re asking for in this case is a sample for you.”
Once we dial in that stain and that color that we’re after, Carlisle will partner with us to provide a little bit bigger sample, which is so helpful for us – we’re all about setting the visual expectations with our clients, and the ability to show a client a larger sample was a game changer for us.
The install day is always fun because you’re actually getting to see the home start coming to life. When we uncover the floor, I feel like I’m watching expectations be met. We spend a lot of time upfront talking about the Carlisle product, why I recommend Carlisle, and we definitely have clients that you get that that “wow” factor. But there’s also this “wow”, but not surprised – it’s more of a “it’s everything I was told.

I’ve never felt safer using a product and I’ve never felt like I have someone in my corner that is behind me 100%, that will speak truth to me. Which also means my clients have someone behind them and this product has someone standing behind it.
